Busan,
a thriving metropolitan center, is located
on the southeastern tip of the Korean peninsula.
With approximately 3.7
million residents,
it is the second largest city in Korea. Busan’s deep harbor
and gentle tides have transformed it into the
largest port in the country – handling
80% of total Korean container volume -- and
the third largest transshipment container
facility in the world.
Busan’s plans to further expand, and develop, a new port
facility combined with the creation of the Busan-Jinhae
Free Economic Zone provide a range of exciting
new business and investment opportunities and position
the area for even further growth moving forward.
U.S. firms seeking to enhance their international
competitiveness and to improve supply chain efficiencies are urged to
meet with the visiting delegation of business and government leaders
from Busan to learn more about how they can take advantage of the exciting
developments now underway.
The Busan North American Investment Forum will
be held without charge on June 14, 2005 at the
Waldorf Astoria Hotel, located at 301 Park Ave.
(between 49th and 50th streets) in New York City.
Participation to this event, and the luncheon
meeting, will be offered on a space available basis,
with preference given to
investors
and executives who are active in the transportation,
logistics, distribution and manufacturing industries. Advance registration
is
encouraged and
advised.
