Dr. Sang Hoon Lee serves as a Seoul-based senior consultant at KWR International, Inc. (KWR); a firm specializing in the delivery of research, communications, consulting and advisory services to a wide range of public and private sector clients. Concurrently, Dr. Lee serves as the morning (Daily, Monday-Friday, 6:00 – 7:00 AM) TV Anchor for Hankyung WOW-TV’s "Wall Street Report" Program.

Drawing on his extensive experience helping Korean financial institutions, corporations and government agencies in their research, communications and strategic planning requirements, Dr. Lee helps KWR clients to more fully understand, and to expand their commercial and financial relationships with a wide range of entities in Korea and other Asian Markets. In addition, Dr. Lee works with Korean firms, government agencies and financial institutions to enhance their international operations and to plan and implement a wide range of marketing and public and investor relations’ initiatives around the world.

Prior to joining KWR, Dr. Lee served as a Managing Director at the Korea Securities Dealers Association (KSDA). In this capacity he supervised KSDA’s International Affairs, Bond Market, and OTC Administration Departments. He also played a leading role in implementing the Mark-to-Market System for Korea’s OTC Bond Market and managed various investment road-shows to major financial cities including Tokyo, New York, and London. In addition to these responsibilities, Dr. Lee regularly appeared on KBS 1TV’s Newsline program commenting on issues and policy recommendations for the Korean stock markets. He also held positions on various public services committees including: Dispute Resolution Committee, Financial Supervisory Service Futures and Options Market Development Committee, Korea Stock Exchange Stock Market Index Operation Committee, Korea Stock Exchange Advisory Committee for Financial Services Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Before joining KSDA, Dr. Lee served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Securities Research Institute. In this position, he assisted Korea’s Ministry of Finance and Economy on its OECD Membership application, and participated as a Korean delegate in OECD’s CMF and CMIT meetings, Multilateral Agreement on Investments (MAI) negotiations. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor of Finance at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana and an Assistant Professor of Finance, Southeastern Louisiana University. He also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Southeastern Economic Outlook, a local monthly newsletter. Dr. Lee also spent several years working with Korean Air Ltd.

Dr. Lee is fluent in English and is a native Korean speaker. He holds a Ph.D. in International Finance from the University of New Orleans, an MBA in Business Administration the University of New Orleans, May 1985 and a BA Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. Dr. Lee has authored numerous research papers and presentations. They have appeared in publications and forums including: Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Handbook of International Market Integration, Asian Economic Review, Financial Management, Southeastern Economic Outlook, Asia Business Forum, Western Decision Science Meeting, Financial Management Association, Midsouth Academy of Economics and Finance Association, Midwestern Finance Association, Eastern Finance Association, Financial Management Association, and the Southern Economic Association.
